Travel Physical Therapist Job Details

• Weekly Estimated Pay: $2,170-$2,330
• Location: Valdez, Alaska
• Healthcare Setting: Outpatient rehabilitation with inpatient and skilled nursing coverage in a critical access hospital
• Start Date: November 2, 2026
• Assignment Duration: 13 weeks, ending February 1, 2027
• Schedule: Days; four 10-hour shifts per week, typically 7:00 a.m.-5:00 p.m. A five 8-hour-shift schedule may also be available.
• Hours: Approximately 40 hours per week
• Call: Not required
• Patient Population: Adolescents, adults, pediatric, and geriatric patients

Physical Therapist Job Requirements

• At least 1 year of experience as a Physical Therapist
• Current Physical Therapist license in Alaska; pending licensure may be considered
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
• Experience in outpatient physical therapy, acute care, and/or skilled nursing settings
• Ability to provide rehabilitation services across outpatient, inpatient, and skilled nursing environments as needed
• Experience documenting patient care in an electronic medical record system
• Strong communication, clinical reasoning, patient education, and care coordination skills
• Two professional references covering at least one year of experience within the last three years

Physical Therapist Responsibilities

• Evaluate patients and develop individualized physical therapy plans of care
• Provide therapeutic interventions for orthopedic, neurologic, post-surgical, and mobility-related conditions
• Treat patients with conditions including cervicalgia, low back pain, spinal disorders, joint replacements, Parkinson’s disease, multiple sclerosis, stroke, spinal cord injury, and traumatic brain injury
• Support patient recovery following cervical, shoulder, and spinal procedures
• Provide gait training, strengthening, balance activities, mobility training, and therapeutic exercise
• Develop and teach individualized home exercise programs
• Educate patients and families on body mechanics, safety, mobility, and ongoing recovery
• Document evaluations, treatments, progress, and discharge planning accurately and in a timely manner
• Collaborate with an interdisciplinary healthcare team to promote safe, effective patient outcomes
