Psychiatric Registered Nurse (RN) – Behavioral Health Contract Job in Ogden, Utah

Psychiatric Nursing Job Details
- Weekly Estimated Pay: $1,570-$1,650
- Location: Ogden, Utah
- Healthcare Setting: Behavioral Health and Alcohol & Chemical Treatment units
- Start Date: October 26, 2026
- Contract Duration: 12 weeks, through January 18, 2027
- Schedule: 36 hours per week; 12-hour night shifts, 5:00 p.m.-5:00 a.m.
- Weekend Schedule: Rotating weekends
- On-Call: None
- Charting System: Meditech Magic
- Attire: Navy scrubs
Psychiatric Registered Nurse Job Requirements
- Current Registered Nurse (RN) license eligible to practice in Utah
- At least 1 year of recent nursing experience, preferably in psychiatric nursing, behavioral health, detoxification, or substance use treatment settings
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
- Crisis Prevention Intervention (CPI) certification
- Strong patient assessment, communication, therapeutic communication, and de-escalation skills
- Ability to provide compassionate, patient-centered care in a behavioral health environment
- Experience providing trauma-informed care is preferred
Behavioral Health Nurse Responsibilities
- Provide safe, compassionate nursing care to patients in behavioral health, psychiatric, and detoxification settings
- Complete comprehensive nursing assessments and monitor changes in patient condition
- Administer medications safely and accurately according to orders and facility policy
- Perform glucose checks and monitor laboratory results
- Support patient safety through therapeutic communication, patient observation, and crisis prevention techniques
- Collaborate with behavioral health professionals, nursing staff, and support personnel to coordinate patient care
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation in the electronic medical record
- Demonstrate patience, kindness, professionalism, and respect in every patient interaction
