Travel CVOR First Assist / Surgical Technologist – Cardiovascular OR Contract in Las Vegas, NV

Travel Healthcare Job Details
- Weekly Estimated Pay: $2,830-$3,040
- Assignment Length: 13 weeks
- Start Date: September 14, 2026
- End Date: December 14, 2026
- Shift Duration: 8-hour days
- Schedule: Monday-Friday, 6:30 a.m.-3:00 p.m.
- On-Call Requirements: After-hours and weekends, including rotating weekend call
- Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours per week
- Healthcare Setting: Cardiovascular operating room supporting open-heart procedures
- Position Type: Travel surgical technologist contract
- Location: Las Vegas, Nevada
CVOR First Assist and Surgical Technologist Requirements
- At least 1 year of recent CVOR or cardiovascular surgical technology experience
- Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) credentials
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
- First Assist experience and demonstrated competency as a cardiovascular surgical first assistant
- Must be competent and independent in vein harvesting
- Experience with the Maquet Hemopro 2 vein harvesting system
- Strong knowledge of cardiovascular operating room procedures, sterile technique, and surgical instrumentation
- Ability to work independently, respond effectively to urgent cases, and participate in scheduled call coverage
CVOR Surgical Technologist Responsibilities
- Serve as a CVOR surgical technologist and first assistant during cardiovascular procedures
- Perform independent vein procurement and harvesting using the Maquet Hemopro 2 system
- Prepare the cardiovascular operating room, instruments, equipment, and supplies for scheduled and emergent cases
- Support CABG, valve, TAVR standby, laser lead standby, thoracic robotic-assisted, and other open-heart procedures
- Maintain a sterile field and anticipate the needs of the surgeon and cardiovascular surgical team
- Assist with patient positioning, surgical counts, specimen handling, and intraoperative safety practices
- Float to the Main OR when needed and follow applicable unit protocols
- Participate in rotating weekend and after-hours call coverage
