Travel Orthopedic Registered Nurse (RN) – Medical-Surgical Nursing Contract in Independence, Missouri

Travel Nursing Job Details
- Weekly Estimated Pay: $1,680-$1,770
- Nursing Specialty: Orthopedic Nursing
- Healthcare Setting: Inpatient medical-surgical/orthopedic unit
- Schedule: 12-hour day shifts, 7:00 a.m.-7:00 p.m.
- Hours: 36 hours per week
- Start Date: November 30, 2026
- Contract Duration: 13 weeks, through March 1, 2027
- Openings: 2 travel RN positions
- Additional Scheduling Option: 48-hour guaranteed schedule option available
- Location: Independence, Missouri, near Kansas City
Orthopedic Registered Nurse Job Requirements
- Current Registered Nurse (RN) license eligible for practice in Missouri
- At least 1 year of professional nursing experience, preferably in orthopedic nursing or medical-surgical care
- Strong patient assessment, clinical judgment, and bedside nursing skills
- Ability to provide safe, compassionate patient care in a fast-paced inpatient environment
- Willingness to work on-site 12-hour day shifts
Orthopedic RN Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive nursing care to patients recovering from orthopedic procedures and other medical-surgical conditions
- Complete nursing assessments, monitor patient status, and promptly communicate changes to the care team
- Administer medications and treatments in accordance with clinical standards and provider orders
- Support patient mobility, pain management, wound care, and post-operative recovery plans
- Collaborate with physicians, therapists, and interdisciplinary team members to coordinate individualized patient care
- Educate patients and families about care plans, recovery expectations, and discharge instructions
- Accurately document patient assessments, nursing interventions, and outcomes
