Travel Physical Therapy Job Details

Physical Therapist Job Requirements

• At least 1 year of Physical Therapy experience, preferably in inpatient rehabilitation or acute care
• Current Alaska Physical Therapist license or an active compact Physical Therapist license
• BLS certification
• Strong clinical assessment, treatment planning, documentation, and patient education skills
• Experience working with adult and geriatric patients with complex medical conditions
• Ability to participate in weekend coverage as scheduled
• Strong collaboration and communication skills within an interdisciplinary rehabilitation team

Inpatient Physical Therapist Responsibilities

• Evaluate patients and develop individualized physical therapy plans of care
• Provide mobility, gait, balance, strengthening, transfer, and functional training
• Treat patients with orthopedic, neurologic, cardiopulmonary, postoperative, and medically complex conditions
• Support the safe use of assistive devices, walkers, wheelchairs, lifts, braces, prosthetics, and adaptive equipment
• Address functional limitations related to stroke, spinal conditions, joint replacement, fractures, amputations, Parkinson’s disease, dementia, COPD, CHF, and other diagnoses
• Complete reassessments, establish short- and long-term goals, and update treatment plans as appropriate
• Provide patient and family education, home exercise programs, discharge planning, and safety instruction
• Collaborate with nursing, physicians, occupational therapy, speech therapy, and other members of the care team
• Document evaluations, interventions, progress, and outcomes accurately in the electronic medical record
