Travel Physical Therapist Job Details

• Location: Anchorage, Alaska
• Setting: Outpatient physical therapy within an acute hospital environment
• Weekly Estimated Pay: $2,170-$2,330

• Hours: 40 hours per week
• Shift: Day schedule
• Shift Duration: 8-hour days
• Shifts per Week: Typically 5×8-hour shifts; a 4×10-hour schedule may be available
• Weekend Coverage: No routine weekends; occasional Saturday coverage may be required
• Charting: Epic electronic medical record (EMR)
• Patient Population: Adults and geriatrics
• Daily Caseload: Approximately 10 visits

Physical Therapist Job Requirements

• At least 1 year of physical therapy experience
• Current, valid Alaska Physical Therapist license or applicable compact privilege as required
• Current BLS certification
• Experience with electronic medical records; Epic experience required
• Outpatient physical therapy experience preferred
• Strong clinical skills in orthopedic, neurologic, and rehabilitation care
• Ability to evaluate and treat adult and geriatric patients with varied diagnoses
• Two professional references covering at least 1 year of experience within the past 3 years
• First-time travel Physical Therapists are welcome to apply

Travel Physical Therapist Responsibilities

• Perform comprehensive physical therapy evaluations and develop individualized treatment plans
• Provide skilled outpatient rehabilitation for neurologic, orthopedic, post-operative, and medically complex patients
• Treat conditions including cervicalgia, low back pain, spinal disorders, joint replacements, post-operative repairs, stroke, Parkinson’s disease, multiple sclerosis, spinal cord injury, and traumatic brain injury
• Deliver therapeutic interventions focused on mobility, strength, balance, functional independence, and pain management
• Educate patients and families on body mechanics, home exercise programs, safety, and ongoing rehabilitation
• Document assessments, treatment sessions, progress, and discharge recommendations accurately in Epic
• Collaborate with the interdisciplinary care team to support safe, effective patient outcomes
• Adapt treatment approaches to meet the needs of adult and geriatric patients
