CVOR Surgical Technologist (CST) – Travel Assignment in Lynchburg, Virginia

As a Certified Surgical Technologist supporting open-heart CVOR procedures, you will join a collaborative perioperative team in a high-acuity surgical setting while enjoying the character and natural beauty of a historic Blue Ridge foothills community.
Travel Job Details
- Location: Lynchburg, Virginia 24501
- Assignment Type: 13-week CVOR travel assignment
- Start Date: October 19, 2026
- End Date: January 16, 2027
- Weekly Estimated Pay: $2,260-$2,430
- Schedule: 8-hour day shifts, 6:30 a.m.-3:00 p.m.
- Hours: Approximately 40 hours per week
- Call Requirement: No more than three weekday call shifts and three weekend call shifts within a six-week schedule; approximately 2-3 weekends per month may be required
- Weekend Coverage: Saturday and Sunday coverage may include a 7:00 a.m.-3:00 p.m. call shift and a 3:00 p.m.-11:00 p.m. working shift
- Float Requirement: None
- Travel Requirement: Applicants residing within 60 miles of the assignment location are not eligible
CVOR Surgical Technologist Requirements
- At least 2 years of recent open-heart cardiovascular operating room experience in a similar setting
- Prior travel assignment experience
- Active Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) credential or accepted equivalent
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
- Active Virginia license or proof that the Virginia licensing application has been submitted
- COVID-19 and influenza vaccination or an approved declination
- Ability to provide active CST and Virginia licensure documentation for credentialing
- All requested time off must be submitted and approved before accepting the assignment
CVOR Surgical Technologist Responsibilities
- Prepare and maintain the cardiovascular operating room for open-heart procedures
- Anticipate the needs of surgeons and the operative team throughout each procedure
- Pass instruments, supplies, and equipment while maintaining a sterile field
- Support safe surgical workflow, including surgical counts, specimen handling, and operating room turnover
- Assist with weekday and weekend call coverage according to the assigned schedule
- Follow established infection prevention, patient safety, and perioperative surgical protocols
- Collaborate effectively with nurses, surgeons, anesthesia professionals, and other members of the cardiovascular operating room team
