Travel RN Job Details
- Specialty: Labor & Delivery Registered Nurse (L&D RN)
- Location: Wichita, Kansas
- Weekly Estimated Pay: $1,910-$2,010
- Schedule: 36 hours per week
- Shift: 12-hour night shifts, 7:00 p.m. to 7:00 a.m.
- Start Date: November 16, 2026
- Assignment Length: 13 weeks, ending February 15, 2027
- Patient Ratios: Approximately 3-4:1 for postpartum couplets and 1-2:1 for labor patients
- Clinical Environment: Team-based birth care unit with experienced nursing, charge, clerical, and scrub support
- Technology: Meditech/CPN electronic medical record, fetal monitoring, point-of-care glucose testing, and Monica Novii telemetry
Labor and Delivery RN Job Requirements
- Current Registered Nurse license eligible for practice in Kansas
- At least 1 year of current Labor & Delivery RN experience
- Experience caring for laboring, postpartum, and high-risk obstetric patients
- Current ACLS, BLS, and NRP certifications
- AWHONN certification or Intermediate Fetal Monitoring (IFM) certification
- Strong maternal-child nursing and patient-care skills, a positive attitude, and the ability to remain effective in a busy environment
Labor and Delivery Nurse Responsibilities
- Provide safe, compassionate nursing care to laboring patients, postpartum patients, and newborns
- Monitor maternal and fetal status and promptly communicate clinical changes
- Support vaginal deliveries, inductions, and high-risk labor management
- Assist with and circulate cesarean sections
- Perform or assist with AROM, IUPC placement and monitoring, fetal monitoring, and Doppler assessments as appropriate
- Provide care for postpartum couplets and support patient and family education
- Collaborate with providers and the multidisciplinary care team to promote positive birth outcomes
- Accurately document assessments, interventions, and patient responses in the electronic medical record
