Travel Respiratory Therapist Job Details

• Weekly Estimated Pay: $1,520-$1,640

• Healthcare Setting: Acute-care hospital respiratory services
• Schedule: 12-hour night shifts, 6:30 p.m. to 7:00 a.m.

• Weekend Schedule: Varying weekends, with at least four weekend shifts per six-week schedule
• Floating: Critical care units and hospital floors as needed

Registered Respiratory Therapist Job Requirements

• At least 1 year of recent respiratory therapy experience in an acute-care or hospital setting
• Current Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential
• Active North Carolina Respiratory Care license
• Current BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications
• NRP certification preferred
• Ability to work 12-hour night shifts and meet weekend scheduling expectations
• CRT applicants will not be considered for this position

Respiratory Therapist Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive respiratory care for adult, pediatric, neonatal, and critically ill patients
• Assess patients, administer respiratory treatments, and monitor responses to therapy
• Manage and support invasive and non-invasive ventilation, oxygen therapy, and high-flow oxygen systems
• Work with adult, pediatric, and neonatal ventilators; transport ventilators; non-invasive ventilation devices; and high-flow oxygen systems
• Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and other members of the multidisciplinary healthcare team
• Respond to changing patient conditions and provide timely respiratory interventions
• Document assessments, treatments, and patient outcomes accurately in the electronic medical record
• Float across designated critical care units and hospital floors while maintaining high standards of patient safety and respiratory care
