Medical-Surgical Registered Nurse (RN) Travel Nursing Job in Fairbanks, Alaska
Join a dedicated medical-surgical nursing team in Fairbanks, Alaska, as a Travel Registered Nurse (RN) and make a meaningful impact caring for adult patients in an on-site hospital setting. This 16-week travel nursing contract offers 12-hour day shifts, a collaborative clinical environment, and the opportunity to experience Fairbanks–Alaska’s “Golden Heart City,” known for its scenic landscapes, outdoor recreation, and unique northern lifestyle.
Travel Nurse Job Details
- Weekly Estimated Pay: $2,130-$2,250

Medical-Surgical RN Job Requirements
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Alaska
- At least 2 years of recent medical-surgical nursing experience
- Travel nursing experience is welcomed
- Ability to work 12-hour day shifts and provide weekend or holiday coverage as needed
- Willingness to float according to unit and patient-care needs
- Reliable transportation
- Strong clinical judgment, communication, patient assessment, and patient-care skills
Medical-Surgical Registered Nurse Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive nursing care to adult medical-surgical patients throughout the care continuum
- Assess patient conditions, monitor changes, and promptly communicate clinical concerns
- Administer medications and treatments safely and accurately
- Collaborate with providers and interdisciplinary team members to develop and implement individualized care plans
- Document assessments, interventions, patient responses, and care outcomes in accordance with professional standards
- Educate patients and families regarding diagnoses, treatments, medications, and discharge planning
- Support safe transitions of care and promote quality, patient-centered outcomes
- Float to other appropriate areas as needed while maintaining high standards of nursing care
