Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) – Primary Care | Temp-to-Hire Job in Philadelphia, PA

Join an on-site primary care team in the greater Philadelphia area as a certified Medical Assistant supporting patient care, phlebotomy, clinical workflows, and a busy outpatient practice. This 13-week contract offers the opportunity to transition into a permanent staff position.

Medical Assistant Job Details

• Location: Philadelphia, PA 19104, situated near Philadelphia’s established healthcare community and offering a convenient on-site opportunity in a vibrant urban area
• Healthcare Setting: On-site outpatient primary care practice
• Weekly Estimated Pay: $860-$920
• Schedule: 40 hours per week; 5 shifts per week
• Shift: 8-hour day shifts, generally between 8:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m., with one late shift from approximately 10:30 a.m. to 7:00 p.m.; schedule may vary
• Start Date: October 26, 2026
• Contract: 13-week temp-to-hire opportunity with potential transition to a permanent Medical Assistant role
• Training: EMR and HIPAA training provided before the start of the assignment

Certified Medical Assistant Job Requirements

• At least 18 months of Medical Assistant experience
• Current Medical Assistant certification required
• Phlebotomy experience strongly preferred
• Previous experience in primary care or an outpatient clinic preferred
• EPIC electronic medical record experience is a plus
• Strong communication, organization, and patient-service skills
• Ability to work on-site and maintain the assigned weekday schedule, including one late shift per week

Primary Care Medical Assistant Responsibilities

• Room patients and prepare them for provider visits
• Collect blood and other laboratory specimens for an on-site lab
• Support phlebotomy and other clinical procedures within the scope of practice
• Answer and manage patient telephone calls
• Schedule and coordinate patient appointments
• Document patient information and clinical activities accurately in the electronic medical record
• Assist providers and the care team with daily primary care workflows
• Provide professional, compassionate service to patients and families
• Perform additional Medical Assistant duties as assigned
