Travel Telemetry Registered Nurse (RN) Jobs – 13-Week Contract in Independence, Missouri
Join a collaborative cardiac telemetry team as a Travel Registered Nurse (RN) in Independence, Missouri, near Kansas City. Travel RN Job Details
- Specialty: Telemetry Nursing
- Location: Independence, Missouri, in the greater Kansas City area
- Weekly Estimated Pay: $1,910-$2,010
- Schedule: 7:00 a.m.-7:00 p.m.; 36 guaranteed hours per week, typically three 12-hour shifts
- Contract Duration: 13 weeks
- Start Date: September 28, 2026
- Patient Ratios: Approximately 4-5 patients per nurse
- Unit: 36-bed cardiac telemetry department with full staffing support
- Weekend Requirement: Three weekend shifts during a four-week schedule, generally Saturday and Sunday for day-shift staff
- Documentation System: Meditech
- Openings: 2 Travel RN positions
Telemetry RN Job Requirements
- Current Registered Nurse (RN) license eligible for practice in Missouri
- At least 1 year of recent telemetry or acute-care nursing experience
- Current Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification
- Demonstrated experience caring for cardiac and higher-acuity patients
- Experience recovering post-cath patients, excluding sheath removal
- Experience caring for patients following pacemaker placement and stroke patients
- Experience managing amiodarone and Cardizem infusions
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, high-energy hospital environment
- Strong communication, prioritization, clinical judgment, and teamwork skills
Travel Registered Nurse Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive nursing care to patients on a cardiac telemetry unit
- Monitor cardiac rhythms, vital signs, and changes in patient condition
- Care for patients recovering from cardiac catheterization and pacemaker procedures
- Manage patients receiving amiodarone and Cardizem infusions according to established protocols
- Support the care of stroke patients and other medically complex individuals
- Administer medications, complete nursing assessments, and document care in Meditech
- Collaborate with providers, nursing colleagues, patient care technicians, and interdisciplinary team members
- Float to other telemetry, medical-surgical, or progressive care areas as needed
- Promote safe, compassionate, and patient-centered care throughout each shift
