Travel Telemetry Registered Nurse (RN) – 13-Week Contract in Independence, MO
Join a collaborative telemetry nursing team in Independence, Missouri, in the Kansas City metropolitan area. This 13-week travel RN assignment offers the opportunity to care for adult patients in a 36-bed telemetry unit while strengthening your expertise in cardiac monitoring, acute-care nursing, and progressive patient care. Telemetry RN Job Requirements
- Current Registered Nurse (RN) license eligible for practice in Missouri
- At least 1 year of recent telemetry nursing or acute-care nursing experience
- Current BLS and ACLS certifications
- Strong patient assessment, prioritization, and critical-thinking skills
- Experience caring for patients requiring cardiac monitoring and vasoactive drips
- Ability to provide safe, compassionate nursing care in a fast-paced team environment
- Positive attitude, adaptability, and willingness to float to medical-surgical units as needed
Telemetry Nurse Responsibilities
- Deliver comprehensive nursing care to adult telemetry patients throughout their hospitalization
- Monitor cardiac rhythms, recognize changes in patient condition, and escalate concerns promptly
- Perform thorough nursing assessments, administer medications, and manage vasoactive infusions according to established protocols
- Provide care involving BiPAP, heated high-flow nasal cannula, IV infusion pumps, and enteral feeding pumps
- Assist with central line and PICC line care and related procedures
- Complete accurate electronic health record documentation in Meditech
- Participate in bedside shift report, hourly rounding, and daily leadership rounds
- Collaborate with providers, support staff, patients, and families to promote safe, high-quality patient outcomes
- Float to medical-surgical units when assigned and maintain consistent standards of care
