Travel RN Job Requirements

• Current Registered Nurse (RN) license eligible for practice in Oklahoma
• At least 2 years of recent medical-surgical nursing experience
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
• Current Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification
• Basic Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification required within 6 months of the start date
• Strong patient assessment, prioritization, and clinical judgment skills
• Ability to float between assigned medical-surgical areas as needed
• Commitment to safe, compassionate, and patient-centered care

Medical-Surgical Registered Nurse Responsibilities

• Deliver comprehensive nursing care to adult medical-surgical patients throughout the night shift
• Complete focused and comprehensive patient assessments, establish nursing priorities, and evaluate patient outcomes
• Administer medications and treatments safely and accurately
• Monitor patients for changes in condition and promptly communicate concerns to the appropriate care team members
• Coordinate patient care with providers, nursing staff, therapy services, and other members of the interdisciplinary team
• Provide patient and family education regarding diagnoses, treatments, medications, and discharge planning
• Maintain accurate, timely documentation in the Cerner electronic medical record
• Support a safe patient care environment by following infection prevention, fall prevention, and hospital safety protocols
• Float between medical-surgical units when required to support patient care needs
