Respiratory Therapist Job Details
- Weekly Estimated Pay: $1,220-$1,310
- Location: Asheville, North Carolina
- Assignment Length: 13 weeks
- Start Date: October 19, 2026
- Schedule: 36 hours per week
- Shift: 12-hour day shifts, 6:30 a.m. to 7:00 p.m.
- Weekend Rotation: Varying weekends, with at least four weekend shifts per six-week schedule
- Healthcare Setting: Acute-care hospital respiratory services
- Charting System: Cerner
- Dress Code: Medium gray or pewter scrubs
Registered Respiratory Therapist Job Requirements
- At least 1 year of experience as a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) in an acute-care or hospital setting
- Current Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential
- Active North Carolina Respiratory Therapist license
- Current BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications
- NRP certification preferred
- Ability to provide respiratory care across adult, pediatric, neonatal, and critical care settings
- Willingness to float to critical care units and inpatient floors as needed
Respiratory Therapist Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive respiratory care for adult, pediatric, neonatal, and critically ill patients
- Assess patients, develop and implement respiratory care plans, and evaluate treatment effectiveness
- Manage invasive and non-invasive ventilation, oxygen therapy, and high-flow respiratory support
- Operate and monitor adult, pediatric, and neonatal ventilators and related respiratory equipment
- Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and interdisciplinary teams to support safe, timely patient care
- Respond to changes in patient condition and participate in emergency and critical care interventions
- Document assessments, treatments, and patient responses accurately in Cerner
- Float among designated critical care units and hospital floors while maintaining high standards of respiratory care
