Medical Laboratory Technician Job Details

• Location: Granbury, Texas
• Weekly Estimated Pay: $1,010-$1,090
• Assignment Type: Travel contract
• Start Date: October 12, 2026
• Duration: 13 weeks, through January 11, 2027
• Schedule: 36 hours per week
• Shift: 12-hour nights, with rotating shifts generally scheduled from 3:00 p.m. to 3:30 a.m.
• Call: No call requirement
• Work Environment: On-site hospital laboratory
• Scheduling: Block scheduling requests may be considered

MLT and Clinical Laboratory Technician Requirements

• At least 2 years of recent laboratory experience in a hospital or comparable clinical laboratory setting
• Laboratory Technician certification; Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT) certification through ASCP or AMT is preferred
• Hands-on experience with hematology, coagulation, urinalysis, blood bank, and chemistry testing
• Experience using Sysmex XN-1000, Siemens CA-660, Siemens Dimension EXL, Ortho manual gel, and Sofia 2/3+ instrumentation is preferred
• Ability to work independently and maintain accuracy during overnight shifts
• Familiarity with Medhost and AS/400 systems is preferred
• Commitment to following laboratory safety, quality-control, and regulatory standards

Hospital Laboratory Technician Responsibilities

• Perform and document diagnostic laboratory testing across multiple clinical laboratory departments
• Conduct coagulation, hematology, urinalysis, blood bank, and chemistry procedures
• Operate, calibrate, and perform routine maintenance on laboratory analyzers
• Review specimens for quality and suitability before testing
• Accurately record, verify, and communicate test results in accordance with laboratory protocols
• Follow established quality-control, infection-prevention, and laboratory safety procedures
• Collaborate with laboratory and clinical teams to support timely patient care
• Remain flexible for rotating overnight shifts and scheduled holidays when applicable
