Med/Surg Registered Nurse (RN) – Travel Assignment in Parkersburg, West Virginia

Job Details
- Setting: Acute care Med/Surg unit
- Location: Parkersburg, WV 26101
- Assignment Type: Travel RN
- Duration: 13 weeks
- Schedule: 12-hour night shifts
- Shift Duration: 12 hours
- Hours per Week: 36 guaranteed hours
- Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend
- Openings: 2
- Estimated Weekly Pay: $1,930 – $2,030
Job Requirements
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license
- At least 1 year of recent Med/Surg, medical-surgical, or acute care nursing experience
- Experience caring for orthopedic patients and using PCA pumps
- EPIC charting experience required
- Current BLS certification
- Ability to work 12-hour night shifts, weekends as scheduled, and float to other Med/Surg units as needed
- Strong clinical judgment, communication skills, and a team-oriented mindset
Responsibilities
- Provide high-quality nursing care to a diverse Med/Surg patient population
- Care for patients recovering from elective orthopedic procedures, fractures, and neuro-related surgeries
- Monitor and manage IV fluids and PCA pumps within scope of practice
- Document accurately in EPIC and maintain timely, organized charting
- Collaborate with charge nurses, PCTs, and the interdisciplinary care team to support safe, efficient patient care
- Respond to changes in patient condition and escalate concerns appropriately
- Support unit needs through floating to other Med/Surg areas when required
- Deliver compassionate care that helps patients feel informed, supported, and confident in their recovery
