Job Details
- Position: Infusion Registered Nurse (Travel RN)
- Location: Beckley, West Virginia 25801
- Employment Type: Travel Nursing Assignment
- Assignment Length: 13 weeks
- Estimated Weekly Pay: $1,870 – $1,970
- Schedule: Day shift, 5 x 8-hour shifts
- Shift Duration: 8-hour days
- Hours Per Week: 40
- Charting System: Cerner
- Patient Population: Adults and geriatrics
- Daily Census: Approximately 70 patients
- Patient Ratio: 1:4
Job Requirements
- Current Registered Nurse license in West Virginia or a compact state; pending licensure accepted for submission
- Minimum of 2 years of RN experience required
- BLS certification required
- Oncology nursing or chemotherapy certification preferred
- Experience in an infusion center workflow strongly preferred
- Inpatient and/or outpatient oncology experience preferred
- Ability to work confidently in Cerner EMR
- Must live more than 100 miles from the facility; candidates within 75-99 miles may be considered on a case-by-case basis
- Clean license history preferred; prior suspensions are not accepted
- Flu vaccine required unless medically exempted
Responsibilities
- Provide safe, compassionate infusion nursing care to adult and geriatric patients
- Administer chemotherapy, blood products, IV hydration, and supportive therapies as ordered
- Access and maintain ports, PICC lines, central lines, and peripheral IVs
- Monitor patients for treatment tolerance, adverse reactions, and abnormal lab values
- Educate patients and families on treatment plans, medications, and infusion care
- Manage infusion pumps and follow radiation safety and cytotoxic spill protocols as applicable
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare team members to support efficient, high-quality patient care
- Document accurately and thoroughly in the Cerner electronic medical record
