Job Details
- Weekly Estimated Pay: $1,840 – $1,940
- Setting: Level III NICU
- Location: Charlottesville, Virginia 22908
- Assignment Length: 13 weeks
- Start Date: October 12, 2026
- Shift Duration: 12-hour nights
- Hours Per Week: 36
- Type: Travel nursing assignment
- Orientation: 36 hours
- Weekend Coverage: Required
Job Requirements
- Minimum of 2 years of NICU nursing experience required
- Full-time Level III NICU experience required; Level IV NICU experience is highly preferred
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license; pending license accepted with required timing before start
- BLS and NRP required
- Dr. Brown’s Infant Driven Feeding Certificate required; may be completed if pending at submission
- Strong Epic charting experience required
- Experience with high-acuity neonatal care and complex respiratory support strongly preferred
- Ability to work nights, weekends, and holiday coverage as scheduled
- BSN preferred
Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care to neonates and infants in a high-volume NICU
- Monitor and manage patients with complex diagnoses including prematurity, respiratory distress, sepsis, cardiac anomalies, and neurologic conditions
- Support advanced therapies such as high-frequency ventilation, conventional ventilators, CPAP/BiPAP, iNO, and whole-body cooling
- Assist with admissions, IV placement, lab draws, wound and line care, ostomy care, and medication calculations
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to deliver safe, family-centered neonatal care
- Float within scope to related pediatric, postpartum, L&D, and PICU areas as needed
- Maintain accurate documentation and follow unit-specific clinical protocols in Epic
- Deliver calm, compassionate care in a fast-paced, high-acuity healthcare environment
