Cardiac Stepdown Registered Nurse – Travel Nursing Job in Amarillo, Texas
Join a fast-paced cardiac stepdown travel nursing team in Amarillo, Texas, and provide high-quality care for adult and geriatric patients in an intermediate care setting.
This 13-week Registered Nurse travel assignment offers 12-hour day shifts, 36 hours per week, and the opportunity to work in a supportive cardiac stepdown unit with med/surg overflow. - Estimated Weekly Pay: $1,620-$1,710
- Setting: Intermediate care / cardiac stepdown with med/surg overflow
- Patient Population: Adults and geriatrics

Registered Nurse Job Requirements
- Active Registered Nurse license required at time of submittal
- Minimum of 1 year of recent nursing experience required
- Current ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS certifications
- Experience with telemetry, cardiac monitoring, and dysrhythmia interpretation
- Comfort working in a cardiac stepdown or intermediate care environment with occasional med/surg overflow
- Epic experience preferred
- Ability to manage patient ratios ranging from 1:4 to 1:6 depending on assignment
Responsibilities
- Deliver safe, compassionate care to cardiac stepdown, telemetry, and intermediate care patients
- Monitor telemetry and respond quickly to changes in patient condition
- Support cardiac drips, IV therapies, heparin protocols, and related nursing interventions
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams to promote efficient, high-quality patient care
- Float to med/surg as needed to support unit coverage and patient flow
- Maintain accurate clinical documentation and contribute to a positive patient experience
