Occupational Therapist – Hand Therapy Travel Job in Portland, Oregon 97239
Join a specialized outpatient rehabilitation team in Portland, Oregon 97239, and help patients regain strength, function, and independence through advanced hand therapy. This 13-week travel Occupational Therapist job in the South Waterfront area is ideal for an experienced OT with strong hand therapy, splinting, and post-surgical rehab skills.
Job Details
- Setting: Outpatient rehabilitation / hand therapy
- Location: Portland, OR 97239
- Duration: 13 weeks
- Start Date: 10/26/2026
- Shift: Day shift, Monday through Friday, 5×8-hour schedule
- Shift Duration: 8 hours
- Hours per Week: 40
- Weekly Estimated Pay: $1,790 – $1,920
- Patient Population: Adolescents and adults
- Charting System: Epic
- Employment Type: Travel Occupational Therapy
Job Requirements
- Minimum 2 years of occupational therapy experience, preferably in hand therapy or upper extremity rehabilitation
- Current state OT license preferred at the time of submission
- Epic experience required
- Current BLS certification required
- CHT certification preferred
- Strong experience with custom splinting, complex hand trauma, tendon injuries, and post-surgical rehabilitation
- No new graduates
Responsibilities
- Evaluate and treat patients with upper extremity, hand, tendon, nerve, and soft tissue injuries
- Develop individualized occupational therapy treatment plans to support functional recovery and improved mobility
- Create custom splints and orthotic solutions based on patient needs
- Educate patients and families on therapy goals, home exercise programs, and recovery strategies
- Perform reassessments, adjust treatment plans, and support safe discharge planning
- Collaborate with the rehab team to deliver excellent patient outcomes in an outpatient setting
