Travel Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) Job in Charlottesville, Virginia | NICU Pediatric Respiratory Care
Travel Registered Respiratory Therapist job in Charlottesville, VA for a high-acuity children’s hospital. Support neonatal, infant, pediatric, and adolescent respiratory care while working alongside a multidisciplinary pediatric care team in a dynamic NICU/PICU environment.

- Start Date: 10/12/2026
- Contract Duration: 13 to 26 weeks
- Schedule: 12-hour day shifts, 36 hours per week
- Weekend Coverage: Every other weekend required
- Weekly Estimated Pay: $1,810 – $1,940
- Orientation: 16 hours
- Specialty: NICU Respiratory Therapist / RRT
Job Requirements
- Minimum 1 year of respiratory therapy experience
- Current Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) certification required
- Current BLS and NRP required
- Virginia state license required; pending license accepted if eligible to obtain temporary licensure before start
- Experience in Level IV NICU care required
- Cardiac PICU experience preferred
- ACCS preferred
- Experience with Epic preferred
- Must be comfortable working with neonates, infants, pediatrics, and adolescents
- Must be competent with Bunnell Jet Ventilator and HFOV 3100A
- Ability to meet flu vaccination requirement
Responsibilities
- Provide advanced respiratory care across NICU, PICU, high-risk deliveries, and acute care pediatric units
- Perform respiratory assessments, interventions, and ongoing support for critically ill newborns and children
- Assist with intubation, extubation, airway management, and neonatal transports within the hospital
- Operate and manage specialized respiratory equipment, including high-frequency ventilation systems
- Collaborate closely with physicians, nurses, and other members of the multidisciplinary healthcare team
- Support self-scheduling expectations while maintaining flexibility for unit needs
- Float within scope of practice as needed
- Deliver safe, compassionate care in a fast-paced pediatric specialty setting
