- Hours per Week: 36
- Contract Length: 13 weeks
- Start Date: 10/12/2026
- End Date: 1/11/2027
- Weekly Estimated Pay: $2,130 – $2,250
- Schedule: Monday through Friday with every other weekend and some holidays required
- Float Requirement: Yes, floating as needed
- Charting System: Epic
- Setting: Adult inpatient cardiac/thoracic stepdown and progressive care
- Additional Requirement: Telemetry testing required prior to start
Job Requirements
- 2 years of acute care inpatient RN experience within the last 3 years in the specialty
- Active Wisconsin RN license or compact RN license
- Current BLS and ACLS certifications through AHA
- Experience with telemetry, cardiac monitoring, and progressive care / stepdown patients
- Experience with ventilator support and transplant patients preferred
- Experience in ICU or IMC with surgical post-op patients required
- Ability to work with general care and IMC patient populations when floating
- Strong knowledge of Epic documentation
- Successful completion of a telemetry exam before start
Responsibilities
- Provide safe, compassionate care for cardiac surgery stepdown and thoracic surgery patients
- Monitor telemetry rhythms and respond appropriately to changes in patient condition
- Care for patients recovering from procedures such as lobectomies, esophagectomies, decortications, and other thoracic surgeries
- Assist with procedures such as chest tube insertion in the unit procedure room
- Manage complex patient needs including cardiac monitoring, oxygen therapy, IV therapy, and post-op care
- Collaborate closely with interdisciplinary teams to support excellent patient outcomes
- Float to other units as needed while maintaining high standards of care
- Use evidence-based nursing practices and contribute to a supportive team culture
