PCU Registered Nurse – Night Shift Travel Contract in Wichita Falls, TX

Job Details
- Position: PCU Registered Nurse
- Employment Type: Travel Contract
- Location: Wichita Falls, TX 76301
- Start Date: 10/19/2026
- Duration: 13 weeks
- Shift: 12-hour nights
- Hours: 36 hours per week
- Estimated Weekly Pay: $1,820 – $1,910
- Orientation: 36 hours
- Setting: Progressive Care Unit Float / Resource RN
- Patient Population: Adults and geriatrics
Job Requirements
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in hand before start
- Minimum 2 years of recent nursing experience
- Travel nursing experience strongly preferred
- Epic charting experience strongly preferred
- Current ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS certifications required
- Experience floating to Med Surg and Progressive Care Unit required
- Comfortable working night shifts and a flexible schedule
- Ability to work weekends as needed
- Strong clinical background in telemetry, cardiac monitoring, and stepdown care
- Must be able to complete required pre-start documentation and compliance items on time
Responsibilities
- Provide high-quality nursing care to PCU and Med Surg patients in a float team environment
- Monitor adult and geriatric patients with varying acuity levels in an acute care setting
- Manage telemetry, cardiac drips, vasoactive drips, and insulin protocols as assigned
- Support patients requiring oxygen therapy, BiPAP/CPAP, and advanced respiratory monitoring
- Perform skilled assessments, interventions, and documentation using Epic
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to coordinate safe, effective patient care
- Respond appropriately to changes in patient condition and escalate concerns promptly
- Float between Med Surg and PCU units based on patient care needs
- Deliver compassionate, patient-centered care in a team-oriented healthcare environment
