Travel Registered Nurse – Med/Surg Telemetry Job in Winchester, VA
Experienced Registered Nurse needed for a Med/Surg Telemetry travel assignment in Winchester, Virginia 22601. Join a supportive acute care float pool team and deliver high-quality patient care in one of the most scenic and historic areas of the Shenandoah Valley.
This travel RN job is a 13-week contract with 36 hours per week on 12-hour night shifts and an every-other-weekend requirement. If you have strong cardiac nursing and Medical-Surgical Telemetry experience, this healthcare opportunity offers variety, teamwork, and the chance to grow your acute care skills.
Job Details
- Position: Travel Registered Nurse – Med/Surg Telemetry
- Employment Type: Travel Nursing Assignment
- Location: Winchester, VA 22601
- Setting: Acute care float pool
- Shift: 12-hour nights
- Hours per Week: 36
- Weekly Estimated Pay: $1,910 – $2,010
- Assignment Length: 13 weeks
- Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend
- On-Call: None
- Scheduling Note: Block scheduling is not available
- Start Window: October 2026
Job Requirements
- Active RN license in Virginia or compact state eligibility
- Minimum 2 years of Telemetry or Med Surg experience
- Cardiac nursing experience required
- Previous travel nursing experience required
- ACLS certification required
- BLS certification required
- NIHSS certification required
- Experience with EPIC EMR required
- Ability to float to other units as needed
Responsibilities
- Provide safe, compassionate care to adult acute care patients on a Med/Surg Telemetry unit
- Monitor cardiac rhythms and respond quickly to changes in patient condition
- Administer medications, treatments, and nursing interventions according to best practices
- Collaborate with physicians and the interdisciplinary care team to support recovery and discharge planning
- Document patient care accurately in EPIC
- Adapt to float pool needs and support other units when assigned
- Promote a positive patient experience while maintaining high standards of clinical quality
