- Employment Type: Travel Radiation Therapist
- Location: Winchester, VA
- Duration: 13 weeks
- Estimated Weekly Pay: $2,150-$2,310
- Shift: Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM-4:30 PM
- Shift Duration: 8-hour days
- Weekly Hours: 36 guaranteed hours
- Weekends: None
- On-Call: None
- EMR: EPIC
- Start Timing: Position will not begin prior to Nov. 16
Job Requirements
- Minimum of 2 years of Radiation Therapist experience in a hospital or oncology setting
- Valid Virginia Radiation Therapist license or current license status; Virginia temporary license accepted with pending licensure
- ARRT certification required
- BLS certification from the American Heart Association required
- Experience with radiation therapy treatment delivery, simulation, patient setup, and therapeutic radiology preferred
- Strong attention to detail, communication skills, and a patient-centered approach
Responsibilities
- Deliver accurate radiation treatments according to the radiation oncologist’s prescription and instructions
- Perform patient simulation support and assist with treatment planning, tumor localization, and dosimetry
- Prepare equipment and positioning aids, including immobilization devices, field sizes, and treatment tools
- Verify patient identity, treatment area, and setup details before each treatment
- Maintain thorough documentation, treatment records, and daily charge accuracy in EPIC
- Support brachytherapy procedures as needed
- Monitor patients during treatments, maintain communication, and escalate any concerns or unusual reactions
- Follow radiation safety standards and collaborate closely with physicians, physicists, dosimetrists, nurses, and other care team members
