- Unit Setting: ICU / CVICU, 16 beds
- Patient Ratio: 1:2
- Float Requirements: Intermediate Care Unit and ED holding as needed
- Equipment / Systems: Baxter pumps, Medhost EHR
Job Requirements
- 2 years of recent nursing experience in an acute care, intensive care, or critical care setting
- Prior travel nursing experience required
- Current BLS certification
- Current ACLS certification
- Current NIH Stroke Scale certification
- Ability to care for adult and geriatric patients in a high-acuity environment
- Comfort with call requirements and flexible float assignments
- Strong clinical judgment, teamwork, communication, and time-management skills
Responsibilities
- Provide safe, compassionate, and high-quality bedside care to critically ill patients
- Monitor and manage complex cardiac and medical conditions including STEMI, NSTEMI, sepsis, COPD exacerbation, stroke, and acute respiratory failure
- Support patients recovering from CABG, valve repair/replacement, TCAR, TVAR, CRRT, trauma, and related interventions
- Collaborate with providers and interdisciplinary healthcare team members to coordinate effective patient care plans
- Assess, prioritize, and respond to rapid changes in patient condition in a fast-paced ICU environment
- Float to Intermediate Care or ED holding when needed to support patient care needs
- Maintain accurate documentation and follow unit workflows using the EHR system
