Med/Surg Registered Nurse (Travel RN) – Rockport, Maine
Travel nursing opportunity for an experienced Med/Surg Registered Nurse in Rockport, Maine. Job Details
- Position: Med/Surg Registered Nurse (Travel RN)
- Employment Type: Travel Nursing Assignment
- Location: Rockport, Maine
- Shift: 12-hour nights, 6:45 PM to 7:15 AM
- Weekly Schedule: 36 guaranteed hours per week, typically 3 shifts per week
- Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend
- Assignment Length: 13 weeks
- Estimated Weekly Pay: $2,110 – $2,220
- Patient Ratio: 1:6 on nights; 1:5 on days
- Float Requirement: Yes
- EMR: EPIC
- Unit Type: Medical-Surgical / Med-Surg
Job Requirements
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license
- At least 1 year of Med/Surg, Medical-Surgical, or related acute care nursing experience
- Travel nursing experience preferred
- BLS required
- ACLS/ALS required
- PALS preferred for pediatric coverage when applicable
- Strong IV skills and telemetry monitoring experience
- Ability to provide accurate documentation and maintain organized clinical records
- Patient-focused, adaptable, and comfortable working in a collaborative hospital environment
- Professional team player with strong communication skills
Responsibilities
- Provide high-quality nursing care to medical-surgical patients with a focus on safety, quality, and patient-centered care
- Care for patients with diagnoses such as CHF, COPD, pneumonia, orthopedic needs, general surgery, and urology-related conditions
- Monitor telemetry, assess patient status, and respond appropriately to changes in condition
- Administer medications, complete required documentation, and maintain accurate clinical records in EPIC
- Use unit equipment such as IV pumps, bladder scanners, EKG machines, and cardiac monitors
- Collaborate with physicians and the care team to support positive patient outcomes
- Float as needed to support unit coverage and team workflow
- Maintain a clean, professional appearance while following unit dress code expectations
