We are seeking a dedicated Telemetry Registered Nurse for a 13-week travel nursing assignment in Independence, Missouri. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Travel Registered Nurse to bring telemetry expertise to a busy, patient-centered unit with strong team collaboration, modern cardiac monitoring technology, and a supportive learning environment. - Unit Highlights: 36-bed telemetry unit, Meditech documentation, new cardiac monitors, and a designated education environment
Job Requirements
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license
- Current BLS and ACLS certifications
- At least 1 year of recent nursing experience in telemetry, med-surg, or a similar acute care setting
- Strong advanced assessment and critical thinking skills
- Experience managing vasoactive drips
- Comfort working with Meditech or similar electronic health record (EHR) systems
- Positive attitude and a strong team-first mindset
Responsibilities
- Deliver safe, compassionate, and high-quality telemetry nursing care in an acute care setting
- Monitor cardiac rhythms and respond appropriately to changes in patient condition
- Care for patients with BiPAP, heated high-flow nasal cannulas, IV pumps, and feeding pumps
- Perform bedside shift report, hourly rounding, and daily leadership rounds
- Support procedures such as central line or PICC line placement as appropriate
- Collaborate closely with physicians, nursing staff, and the interdisciplinary care team to maintain excellent patient outcomes
- Follow unit standards, safety protocols, and documentation best practices
- Contribute to a positive, efficient, and supportive hospital work environment
