Job Details
- Position: Psychiatric Registered Nurse (Psych RN)
- Location: Springfield, MO 65806
- Employment Type: Travel Nurse Assignment
- Assignment Length: 13 weeks
- Shift: 12-hour nights, 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM
- Hours Per Week: 36 hours guaranteed
- Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend
- Weekly Estimated Pay: $1,570 – $1,650
- Start Date: 9/14/2026
Job Requirements
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license
- At least 1 year of recent Behavioral Health or Psychiatric Nursing experience required
- Experience working with children, adolescents, adults, and seniors
- Experience with paper charting preferred
- Ability to work 12-hour overnight shifts and every other weekend
- Strong communication, observation, assessment, and de-escalation skills
- Commitment to providing compassionate, patient-centered mental health care
Responsibilities
- Provide safe, supportive nursing care in a behavioral health and psychiatric setting
- Monitor patients for changes in mood, behavior, mental status, and clinical condition
- Support individualized care plans and therapeutic programming
- Collaborate with the treatment team to promote stabilization, recovery, and discharge planning
- Document patient information accurately using paper charting workflows
- Care for patients with behavioral disorders, memory disorders, mental health disorders, and mood disorders
- Maintain a calm, professional, and therapeutic environment for patients of all ages
