CVOR Surgical Technologist (OR Tech) – Travel Assignment in Salem, VA 24153
Join a dynamic cardiovascular operating room team in Salem, Virginia, for a 13-week travel surgical technologist assignment offering hands-on CVOR experience, competitive weekly pay, and a collaborative perioperative environment.
Job Details
- Setting: Operating Room / CVOR (Cardiovascular Operating Room)
- Location: Salem, VA 24153
- Assignment Length: 13 weeks
- Start Date: September 14, 2026
- Shift: 8-hour day shifts
- Hours per Week: 40
- Weekly Estimated Pay: $1,690 – $1,820
- Call Coverage: Weekday, weekend, and holiday call required
- EMR: Meditech
- Work Environment: Two OR suites with a collaborative surgical team
Job Requirements
- At least 1 year of Operating Room Technician, OR Tech, Surgical Technologist, or CVOR experience required
- Current BLS certification required
- Current ACLS certification required
- CST or ORT credential preferred
- Scrubbing experience preferred in a fast-paced surgical setting
- Strong communication skills and a team-oriented mindset
- Flexible, knowledgeable, and self-directed approach to patient care
Responsibilities
- Support cardiovascular operating room procedures with a focus on safe, efficient patient care
- Assist with complex surgical cases, including CABG, thoracotomy, endo AAA, valve replacement, and pacemaker procedures
- Prepare and maintain the sterile field for surgical cases
- Scrub for procedures as needed and provide direct support to the surgical team
- Collaborate closely with surgeons, nurses, and other perioperative staff
- Maintain readiness for weekday, weekend, and holiday call coverage
- Contribute to smooth workflow in a high-acuity, fast-paced operating room environment
